| Ownership Transfer Cost The PCA Rescue Trust requires a fee for ownership transfer of almost all our rescued dogs. For your convenience PCART can accept money orders, cashier or bank checks.. The proceeds generated by this policy are used, along with other donations and our active fundraising to ensure our organization remains able to take in any needy Papillon. In addition to loving rescue care, we provide each dog with medical treatment including alteration, shots, heartworm testing, patella evaluation and necessary dental care. We appreciate your support of this policy. The following table may be used for a guide to determine the potential ownership transfer fee: For healthy dogs up to two years of age: $350-$450 Shipping costs or travel costs to obtain your Papillon will be the responsibility of the new owner. We have limited capability to move dogs around the country, and will work to assist wherever we can. Please keep in mind some dogs are simply not good candidates for shipping. Ownership transfer fees made to PCART are not tax deductible as charitable contributions for Federal income tax purposes. All other donations to PCART are tax deductable as charitable donations for Federal income tax purposes. Transfer of Ownership Process Are you ready now? Submit your application by using the link below or the one on the front page of our website. You will receive verification that your application has been accepted. This does not mean you have been approved for ownership transfer. Your application still has to be selected from our database. Please respond indicating your interest in a specific dog. If the information on your application and the dog's requirements appear to be a match, we will contact you. Our regional coordinators will be happy to address any further questions you have and will help the caregiver home to determine if you are a good match. We check references and a home visit will have to be done. Please examine the biography on any dog that interests you very carefully. We spend a great deal of time assessing the needs of these dogs, and our requirements are generally non-negotiable. Occasionally, a dog in our care is considered suitable for shipping (at the new owner's expense). However, if your interest is in a specific dog not geographically close to you, you'll want to consider how you might go about getting the dog to you. Please be aware we have many more applications than available dogs. We are a volunteer organization and although we appreciate your desire to add a Papillon to your home, we cannot possibly answer each and every application personally. Ownership transfer of a rescued papillon is a process. It often takes time. Our successful placement rate is high. Trust us and work with us, it will be well worth the wait. |
